wouldnt this be a better solution to the problem then picketing the clinics?

People are obviously going to have sex, regardless of whether it's wrong, right or what the world does about it. They're still secretly going to masturbate, or have sexual partners discreetly. Not everyone will, but many are already like this. The urge is strong, by nature. Mistakes happen, and people resort to abortions because they realize that their "baby" was not created out of love's purpose, or intent, so by having it and not aborting it, you're technically living with a "mistake." This is how the parents will feel, and they don't want that responsibility, and may not have the money/resources to raise the child properly.

Adoption rather than abortion is another choice, and quite frankly, let's be realistic about this.

Abortion--- leads to killing off the baby before it has a chance to technically experience life. Is abortion death?

Yes, it's death to a "developing" fetus,

HOWEVER, this fetus will have absolutely no recollection of its development in this stage of its life, so keeping it alive, or killing it, makes no difference at this stage. Once a baby is born, things change.

But most adults can't remember any feelings/pain etc during the first year of it's life even, so what difference is it going to be aborting before you're even born.

If religoius people have an issue with this then technically they need to figure out when the fetus becomes a being carrying a soul. After the sperm fertalizes the egg, after the baby comes out of the uterus, or during such/such month of the pregnancy.

Religious folks havent totally figured this out yet, and there are varying differences.

However, for what's humane or not, I think it's more harmful to have the child and put it for adoption, because that child will grow up in the system, realize that other kids may have had mothers/fathers who cared, and that they were a "mistake," and probably have to put up with so many issues, and may develop mental problems etc, and then can possibly be a problem to themselves and to others and to society.

Killing something before it even has the ABILITY or the nerve censors to understand what is happening, isnt really a bad thing, because it can't think, feel or understand.

It won't know the difference.

I agree. I personally don't advocate abortion, but I can understand why some choose to have them. Picketting and harrassing women who are already making a very tough choice does nothing! It's their body, their decision, and you don't know their unique situation so how can you justify the harrassment????

These picketting morons seem to think that everyone who has ever had an abortion got into that situation because she was promiscuous, or not on birth control, or just a generally lousy human being.

What about the people in loving, married relationships who were on birth control that failed them? Or those who had to make a tough choice about the quality of life the fetus they were carrying might have??? Surely you can't believe that everyone who considers abortion is just a walking mattress.

I am not totally on the side of people who chooses to undergo abortion but only to be fair, I think deciding to have an abortion wasn't as easy as some people might have thought it was. Maybe it's because we have heard about it a lot and even more nowadays.

lack of people adopting isn't the only reason why some women chooses to have abortion. there are also other reasons. however having said that there are a lot of reasons concerning abortion, there are also a lot of ways in which abortion could be prevented.

People against murder........? Shouldn't you just make friends with those that are around you and spend your time hanging out with them?? Wouldn't this be a much better sollution to the problem than prosecuting murderers?

I think you see my point. I fully support the idea of making friends with those in this world, but I still want the murderer off the streets.

I fully support adoption, and wish more couples who want children would consider it. I am not in a position in my life to have a child at all right now but will certainly consider it when it comes time to start my family. This doesn't mean I have to stand by and accept an evil that is going on.

If you don't want a child - don't have sex. Problem solved. Don't say I used contraception or anything, cause everyone knows it is not 100% effective.

Rape is a shady area, that I'm honest enough to say I don't even know where to begin cosidering on it. But the percentage of abortions from rape - not very high.

***I'd like to add in response to the post above me...and I may post this question here on yahoo...How many children raised in foster homes out there would be willing to step up and say, "You now, I really wish my mom had just aborted me,"? I could be wrong, but I'll bet you wouldn't get that many hands in the air.

This is a huge issue and I think I can see merit in every side of the argument. I am against mothers keeping babies their don't want or are unable to afford. Would I adopt these babies? In a heartbeat.

Picketing the clinics is drama news-making behavior, completely useless to me.

I'd never abort a child of mine. I believe children are gifts. But I have no right to expect you to agree with my decisions. You have the right to make your own decision about your own body and your own baby.

We all know that there are some valid reasons for abortion, and I don't disagree with those. But I would never advise someone to abort unless one of these reasons were in play.

Okay, you've got my point of view of your point of view. No, don't keep babies you don't want or can't afford. Yes, American needs to step up and open their homes to these babies, and yes, that is a far better solution than violence and drama.

Isn't it the aborting mothers responsibility to actually take care of the child that God gave her?

Instead she decides she doesn't want it... or it's not best for her at this time... and sends the baby right back by killing it?

The people picketing are sick of women having the right to kill their baby because they don't want to deal with the consequences of having sex before they are actually ready. They are trying to help the situation. It sure doesn't seem to help but at least someone cares enough about the unborn children to selflessly do something for them.

This world is going to see a great judgment for ending the lives of millions of unborn children a year.

I see more and more talk about how our troops are dying and we should pull them out of the middle east... when our troops signed up for that... they wanted to fight... and her in OUR wonderful United States of America we are allowed to kill THOUSANDS of babies a day... I don't believe our unborn children have any rights.

I don't even remember the question anymore.

People who use birth control do not want to have a kid. They should be allowed to choose what they want to do. I think a lot of prolifers would change their mind if the pregnancy was due to a rape. Say it was you (if female), or your wife, daughter, mother who is raped. Would prolifers still rule out abortion? I don't think so. If prolifers want to ban abortion, they should take care of the unwanted offspring from rape victims and people who used birth control that failed.

The solution to the problem would be for people to either close their legs if they don't want a baby or get on bc...it is free from health clinics. Condoms might still give you herpes, but it will keep you from getting pregnant (in most cases) and they are free too. If you get pregnant with a baby you don't want, then you shouldn't have been on your back. PERIOD. Babies are innocent lives depending on the mother THEY DIDN'T CHOOSE to keep them alive at least until birth. Then they can be given up for adoption if you DON'T WANT THEM or CAN'T AFFORD THEM. You people make me sick. IF YOU DON'T WANT OR CAN'T AFFORD A BABY CLOSE YOUR LEGS.

Wow. How about you people who have unwanted pregnancies stop having sex if they can't handle the responsiblilty of a baby. Why is it the job of prolifers to take the responsiblity for your actions. And a lot of people who are against abortion due adopt. And not all prolife people are violent and picket, those are extremist.
