I do and I don't, it depends. Some of the younger generations listen to music, play games, watch T.V., work on projects, well, the list goes on and on. They call it multi-tasking. I find it to be just distracting. How about you?

You're welcome,Sylvia. The same thing happened to me yesterday when I was reminded of something that HAD to be done. I chose to look on it as fate... giving me a valid reason to return to YA when my other task was complete.

Well...I try to watch the soaps and do answers but it doesn't work. My grand daughter always has to fill in the blanks for me.
I can listen to music though.

I have always been able to multi-task. Actually there was a news story on the T.V. just this morning about that--it seems that it is an inherited trait passed on to us by our parents, and passed on by us to our children.

I know my youngest is able to do this just as easily as I ever could, but my oldest finds it much harder to concentrate on more than one thing at a time.

As to your question (haha, I didn't forget!) I listen to music only sometimes...if I happen to be feeling in need of soothing mostly. Which means the grandsons have been REALLY acting up that day. My "Between Father Sky and Mother Earth" CD always makes me mellow.

I am sure that Music is so much better than my hearing my mate screaming at the dog all the time. Perhaps I should not have been in such a hurry to replace my Bradley (Standard) with a new puppy. Sometimes I let sentiment stand in the way of reasoning...and this was one of those times. I am sure the puppy will become a great dog, I am not so sure I will survive the journey.

I used to pride myself of being the King of Multi-Tasking.

Now I can no longer concentrate on a single task, I find it very hard and feel a little scatter brained from having too many things bouncing around in my head at 300mph.

hardly, yet yeah. I pay attention to a great style of music. My iTunes is on shuffle and would flow from songs from Sondheim's Sweeney Todd to John Mayer to The Village human beings to Marilyn Manson to green Day to Yoko Kanno to U2 to Bjork, and so on.

Actually, this is a style of life. When my son was in school, he would blare his music when he studied and I couldn't understand it because I had to have silence. A psychologist friend of mine said it is learning styles. My brain hears music as another language, I love it,it lead to my emotional side which I often ignore, and so if studying I have 2 "things" talking to me and the older I get at 56, I cannot listen to music and drive. !! Oh my old ager

I do. But, thats because I'm a radio DJ and I'm in the middle of my show right now, so I kinda have to listen. This is just a little something to help pass the time.
