When working with fractions "OF" usually indicates multiplication.

2/3 of 10 miles

would be

2/3 * 10 miles =
20/3 miles =
6 2/3 miles

Don't forget the "miles"!
An answer of 6 2/3 is INCORRECT!

6 2/3 is just a number, not a distance.

via fact that there's a + sign up front of the parenthesis you do not multiply -x to (5x-7), to remedy for x you will desire to isolate it. Or flow each little thing, different than x, to the different facet -x+(5x-7)=-5 upload the x's mutually 4x-7=5 upload 7 to the two factors, you upload via fact 7 is detrimental, what you attempt to do is eliminate -7 and the alternative of -7 is constructive seven, so whilst further mutually they cancel one yet another out. 4x = 2 divide the two factors by ability of 4, 4 divided by ability of 4 equals to a million. so which you've gotten 1x which equals to x via fact something greater by ability of one continues to be the comparable. x = 2/4 = a million/2 x = a million/2

You need to find 2/3rds of 10.

2/3 = x/10 Cross multiply.

3x = 20

x =6.667

So about 6.6 miles were mountain trail.
