Being at 5"2 1/2, and living in Melbourne, Australia, I can't help but wonder, it's piqued my curiosity a lot, would height be behind the reason people pay more attention and hold what my taller friends say in higher regard? Most of my taller friends seem to be more successful in securing jobs (eg: Graphic designers, Bank junior executives, Sociologists, Musicians).

I don't find that to be the case and I am approximately the same height as yourself. We have many famous ladies of that height and shorter in Western society. Maybe if you would forget your height or wear higher heels it would take your own attention away from your height.

I'm 5'0 and i think it depends on how strong your persona is as to how seriously people take you. Although people do seem to try to get over on shorter people in my opinion.
