childish fingerpointing, on both sides? Is there any real chance for a third party to emerge with any real oomph behind it? Who would be the best moderate Presidential candidate for 2008? Is there anything that can be done to alleviate this Bush vs. Clinton crowd mentality?

I have played my part in this bi-partisan bickering too, so I am not blaming anyone, I really would like to see a middle of the road candidate win in 08. Who is that?

I really don't think this country needs a middle-of-the-road president. We need someone who has balls and is not afraid of the democrats in the senate and congress. Aren't you tired of keeping track of these people? I as a republican would LOVE to just be able to see that they are simply republican and base my vote on that. I get such a headache when I think about keeping track of everyone's views. We need an american hero again. We need someone like Ronny Reagen who was disliked but we knew what he stood for and was not going to stop until he made something happen. Just disregard all the fingerpointing and focus on what you believe. If someone was riding the fence what would he truly believe? No one would really know. That and the fact that when they are part of either side they are held accountable by someone.

When this country was founded Politician was not a profession it was a community service that successful educated patriots undertook for the betterment of their country. When this sacred duty became a job we lost that impartial reverence for doing what is right over what is popular or personnally profitable.

The problem now is anyone that would ever look at political office this way would have to face the hatred spewing process we now call an election.

I think all Americans deserve better and I think from what I have seen so far we will be let down.

Unfortunately Wolfgang you bring up an issue that there is no real awnser to.

The war in Iraq has polarized the entire country. The current administration isn't listening to the public, so the republicans are going to pay the price. They will pay it in a lot of places that they are unaccustomed to as well. it doesnt come down to winning, because this is the Iraqi's civil war, not ours.

The Iraqi's have been fighting this same tribal war for over 1000 years. We should turn the whole region into a glass topped oil dome. If they want to kill themselves over tribal differences that started over a thousand years ago, help them by nuking them. They have no regard for human life at all, so why bother.

These are the people that we are sacrificing our brave soldiers for. They are being sacrificed for a oil turf war. The country isnt fooled.

There are no real moderates out there, from my viewpoint. I wish there was though.

Remove the money, power and prestige from it. If there isn't anything like those items listed to gain, then there would be no reason for anyone to "have to be right".

Every single person in this nation wants the same thing - the best nation possible to live in that does the most for the people. It is just that too many don't agree on how to achieve the end result.

But until the money, power and accolades is removed from offices of elected governing officials, it will all continue.

The Republicans interior the abode already handed a bi-partisan bill that could advance the payroll tax decrease for a whole year. Why do Democrats want to kill this in want of a short 2 month version that even the President says isn't viable?

For me to give up my efforts to defend the free market, the democrats are going to have to toss out Soros and the Shadow Party socialists.

Nothing. America could be physically invaded and conquered and the Dems & Reps would still be more focused on spinning it to thier rival's disadvantage than with actually defending thier country.
