He would like to break the record at home but if you look at his games played over the past few years you will see that he takes games off every week to rest his ailing knees. And very seldom will you see him play a day game after a night game. There is no way for him to plan when he is going to hit a homerun, he is good but not that good.

If that's the case, he'll have to wait until July 23rd before they get home. After they play the Cubs, the Giants are headed for Milwaukee. And us fans here in Milwaukee would hate to see Bonds break Hank Aaron's record in Milwaukee. Aaron played for Milwaukee, the last thing we want to see is Bonds break the record here.

Supposedly he is sitting out because he "needs rest."

At this rate, he may hit a home run once a month. He's not on a tear like he was before.

Really showing his age.

Its hard to tell with Bonds. But i think it would have been cool to hit one of these final 4 leading up to it at Wrigley Field. they definately want him to break it in front of SF crowd, plus hes in a BIIIIG slump, so that may have something to do with it also

He's sitting because he's like 0 for July.

As soon as I heard about this on the news, my first thought was how long it would be before someone posed this question on Yahoo.

Yes, and he also complained of an injury too so they might be just sitting him out just in case.
