I hope that's not true! It does sound like it could be though. You never know with people these days. But that would totally murder astrology as we know it. And I don't want to be a virgo, which is what I would be according to the site.

I think I am a Scorpio though, because everything I've heard/read about Scorpios applies to me. Also, Virgo stuff totally doesn't apply to me.

I asked my mom about it and she said that I'm a Scorpio. That's what the "old" zodiac says I am.

Alot of people deny alot of truths. Astrologers will deny this as it messes up everything they have come to know. Ophiuchus has shunted other constellations to one side in it s reappearance in the celestial skies. The trouble is, when astrologers ignore Ophiuchis they set a very bad example. Ignoring the shadow will not make it go away, but will cause it to grow. The tarot for the Ophiuchus constellation is the Tower which represents upheaval. I guess they don t like giving bad news. The lesson is that everybody has a shadow side that they try and suppress, but they should just be true to who they are and love all of themselves. Forgive yourselves - nobody is perfect but the universe is only perfect with you in it as you make up part of the ALL. Without you, even as a small drop in the oceans of time, the universe would never be complete. So ponder how truly special each of you are in all you imperfections you create a collectively perfect oneness just by being true to yourself and following your will as this is your purpose and duty as part of the all.

I appreciate that you defend these non standard ideas.

The two links in your question could be right about the existence of a 13th sign but they are faulty on the new dates, because, the winter solstice still happens around december 21st and the sun has to be at the South Pole for that to happen on the north hemishpere. Besides, the constellations clearly have no determinant power on the signs ----> they are just indicators like i have said in another message. They might be misunderstood today but the Sun still takes 1 year to spin around the earth, and that famous "procession of the equinoxes" counter built by the astronomers is quite undefendable, like many other ideas advanced by today's scientists, because it's lost in time and nobody would want to travel in time just to prove or refute such ideas.

The description of Opiunchus' attributes btw, are similar to my idea of a Scorpio with at least one planet in sagitarius. This would lead to a scorpio capable of objective communications. The scorpios are related to corruption, so, of course any sag/scorpio would like to be a doctor... It's that "we'll create the cure, we made the disease" pattern.

And the reason why you have a delay between the image of a planet in any constellation and the present time is, of course... the stars are situated many light years from us. For instance Castor, in Gemini, shines at 52 light years from here.

According to the boundaries for the constellations adopted by the International Astronomical Union in 1921, there are 13 signs of the zodiac instead of the usual 12; time from Ophiuchus the snake handler is usually included in time given to Scorpius. If you already know your astrological sign from reading an astrology column in a newspaper or from consultation with an astrologer, you may be surprised that few of these dates correspond to the dates listed in the newspaper's astrological column. Why? Generally, listed astrological signs and the dates given by most astrologers assume that you were born around 140 AD.

Claudius Ptolemy, an astronomer and astrologer-in his day there was no distinction between astronomy and astrology-around 140 AD compiled the Tetrabiblos, which even today remains the most important work on astrology to most astrologers, in the west. In the time of Ptolemy the study of the stars was already very ancient, and at least 40 of the currently generally accepted 88 constellations were already named. In fact, Ptolemy even knew about the precession of the equinoxes, since the vernal equinox (the first day of spring) in his time occurred at the beginning of Aries and not in the middle of the constellation Taurus, as it had many millennia before his time. Today, as was mentioned above, the first day of spring occurs when the sun is in Pisces, and the relative position of the sun on this date is slowly processing, or moving, into Aquarius.

Precession of the equinox is caused by the fact that the axis of the earth's rotation (which causes day and night) and the axis of the earth's revolution around the sun (which marks the passage of each year) are not parallel. They are 23 l/2 degrees away from lining up; that is, the earth's axis of rotation is tilted. This tilt also causes our seasons, a fact that Ptolemy did understand but that many people do not understand even today. Ptolemy understood that the rotation axis of the earth was slowly precessing, or moving in a circle, with an angular radius of 23 1/2 degrees with a period of around 26,000 years. He deduced this from comparisons of data taken by the ancient Sumerians 2,000 years before his time. He did not understand what was pushing the precession, but he did understand the motion. We now realize that the sun is rotating with a period of around 30 days and that this causes the sun to bulge at the equator, which causes a torque to be exerted on the top like motion of the earth's day and night cycle. There is also a small 18.6-year variation caused by the moon's orbit around the earth, and the moon also has a small effect on precession; however, the sun's equatorial bulge is the main cause of the precession of the equinox, which is why your sign listed in the newspaper, in most cases is removed by one sign from the modern, actual position of the sun at your birth.

i just can't be a Pisces. How come when i read it i can't relate to it?? I can relate to the Aries description perfectly. Even before I was into astrology, i read all the descriptions and bam Aries fit me very well. So did Virgo......and i'm not telling myself it's not true, it just doesn't make sense that way.
