'blueridge....'(one of my 'network - yep) and 'ken c':

Cudos to both of you. It's a pity that one of these responders would consider FDR as a model for Orwell.

Obviously a repubnut.

I will repeat what I have answered to Qs
in the recent and not-so-recent past(in Y!A terms), that the repubs have to be reverted to a 'rump' party that is ineffective in all ways.

The voters must come out in droves and eliminate every single repub that doesn't fit the description of at least being a 'moderate' or a 'liberal' repub(tough call).

The rest of the world has to be shown that the likes of 43 will never be seen again, and an administration anything remotely close to his will not happen again.

The repubs MUST reform for the sake of the USA AND the world.

The more than 70% of voters who do not like what W is doing or has done, MUST vote 'en masse', even if they're repubs to show that the likes of what has existed for the last 6+ years is not THEIR idea of Republican values.

This goes beyond all that has been mentioned by others here. GET THE RIGHT-WINGNUTS WHO WOULD HAVE THE CHURCH RUN THE STATE OUT OF "ALL" OFFICES OF "ANY" (P) OR(p) POWER !!

The USA has to go down the road that takes it to where things are allowed AND participated in that benefits their people and the world. The "bleeding hearts" have to be 'outed' and dismissed.

Science has the means to do wonders, and this man Bush and all of his 'ilk' have it all wrong(they have a right to their opinions), but to play TO their "God" rather than to the benefit of humanity is to 'weep' for.

They have nothing to 'gain' from this position, except some votes from people(who have right to believe what they want) who don't really know any better.

For example: To 'save' even one truly existing life with a now controlled or banned procedure(by using the science) is a far, far better thing to do than to 'save' what never will actually "live" in the true definition of 'life'.

That argument is paramount right this moment in American life. The science MUST go ahead. The repubs will not accede, therefore, using this as an example, they must be 'gutted' as a political force - 'nirvana' for us 'liberal' thinkers, yes, but what else can the voters do if they don't want a repeat, or at least a continuation of this 'madness' ??

The utter nonsense of those who would sacrifice their own in the name of the "Lord"(it's their right to think this) - that right MUST be taken away - THAT is 'killing' in its own right - what is so different from that if an embryo is 'killed' - at least some benefit can come from it - to potentially have countless people continue to suffer or to die due to questionable 'beliefs' IS murder in its own right !!

The 'administration' of the USA is the purveyor of this ridiculously flawed doctrine(through 'church' beliefs). It must be electorally 'junked' forever.

THEY 'play God' instead of simply believing in 'Him'. THEY have no right to politically define whatever 'God' may 'think', define it and use it for 'religious' reasons AND political gain, and 'force' it on the American public because THEY have the 'power' to do so. THAT IS PATENTLY WRONG !!

'Nuff said.

No he'd be pointing at all of people that voted for BushFraud...twice!!! Here are some striking coincidences(?)

Never Ending War Oceania vs Eastasia Vs Eurasia = US vs Afganistan vs Iraq

Big Brother - "War Is Peace" = BushFraud - “I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.”

Osama bin Laden = Emmanuel Goldstein

The ubiquitous terrorist of a foreign descent that the government could never catch, but we were told he exists and that we should hate him

Ministry of Truth = FOX News and BBC
Ministry of Truth was propaganda by the state. Commonly rewrote history and told the people of the inner party that things were always good. Any contrary evidence that didn't support state views was shoved down the memory hole.

Example: On 9/11 the original theory according of the WTC was controlled demolition to the FBI (this was said live on network tv), but since the White House wanted us to believe fire caused the collape, this truth was sent down the memory hole. Also, the official story said 19 highjackers died on the flights, but one highjacker somehow escaped the plane crash and tower collapse and the BBC reported he was still alive, then the BBC the BBC retracted the article and said they made a mistake on the name. Memory hole?

BushFraud's illegal wire-tapping = to big brother surveillance monitors

Ministry of Love's = Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo
Where people were tortured to death

A lot of people don't realize how anti-communist Orwell was - his works, especially Animal Farm, are often interpreted in ways quite different from his own commentaries upon them.

I think if Orwell were brought back to life he'd be very surprised at how the world turned out.

TO Ken C: Well, now, you're just a flat-out liar, aren't you? Have you read one word about George Orwell?

The book had NOTHING to do with FDR.

You should be sued for libel.
******************************

And in answer to the question:

This bush cabal is EXACTLY what Orwell warned us about. Page by page, word for word.

It's eery.
****************************

To Kevorkian: NO, it wasn't about "communism" it was about TOTALITARIANISM.

Orwell had deep hatred for totalitarianism.

As in: BUSH.
***************************
EDIT #2: I know all about Orwell, have for years. Unlike you. Shame of you for even attempting to smear FDR. You're funny.

Oh! My! The dreaded "tin foil hat" arrow! Oh! Run, run!

(has there ever BEEN a more lame insult? I ask you.)

G.O. would tell you to stop being a jerk/pinhead. You do not like G.B. OK. That is your choice. We are tired of hearing about it. Try saying something of meaning and importance. He's a lame duck. Look at the boobs who are trying/wanting to replace him. Now that is really scary. Both Parties. Peace

George Bush did not create the IRS, which forces you to report your entire life to the government once per year.
George Bush did not create Social Security, which forces you to pay for other people's (able bodied) retirement.
George Bush did not create Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, EPA, OSHA, etc., etc.

George Bush did implement the new prescription drug entitlement program.

Bush is just continuing the enslavement of the American people that was started a hundred years ago. It would hardly be fair to place all the blame on him.

Yes.

Oh, and Ken C., I'm a scholar on Orwell.

I think I know what he was talking about.

He would actually be looking at FDR (Who the book was a take-off on).....

Blueridge..You are an angry little man aren't you. Yes I am well educated and read Orwell. I suggest you read some of his letters and Memoires also, so you may actually gain an educated understanding of his thought process. Lay off the Tin Foil buddy.....

So would Ben Franklin. "Those that trade in liberty for security, deserve neither and will lose both".
