I left an unopened can of powder infant formula in my car trunk (for about a week) and the temperature here is b/w 80 - 90 degrees during the day. Should I toss the formula or is it okay to use?

as long as it is not mixed its fine. think about it. it was made in a factory with limited ac then set in storeage until it could be shiped then sat in a hot 18 wheeler trailer for who knows how long and in what heat! then it gets to the store and they don't even put it out on the shelf till the old ones are gone. that is alot of waiting and a lot of diffrent kinds of heat. and this gos with any other product that u use in life. mines the meat, fruit, veges and sea food. even your beer and wine gos through the hot -cold and storeage prosess thing. i am a mother of 3 and love children and i would no way but a childs health on the line for nothing. but if ur not comfortable with it just go and buy more. it not but $15-20 a can.

On the can of powder it should say which temps are safe to use (ie: Keep in a cool dry place not exceeding so many degrees). Something like that. However, remember that a car in the sun in 90 degree weather could get up in temps closer to 150-200 degrees. I would read the label and see what it says, but I'm guessing you'll have to throw it all away.

I left mine in the car but only for like a day...i bought it on my lunch and took it in the house after I got off work and my son was fine, but a wk may be too long for it to be in that type of heat! Just think your care always gets hotter than the actual air! So Just call the formula company and see if maybe they will replace the can for you or something!

since it was unopened and still a powered i would think it would be okay to use. Read the can and if it says anything about a temp. then Ur best bet if it does is to through it out just to be safe. Or even call and ask Ur doc or local pharmacy could tell you if you call and tell them the brand and ask. Hope this helps.

It's fine, as long as its unopened and still powder. Think of it like this, during the shipping and stocking of all those cans of formula, I'm certain they wern't all kept at an ideal temp of 70deg!!

Since it was unopened and powder, I say you are perfectly fine. I would personally still use it. Hope this helps.

As long at it is in a sealed container it is okay to still use it. Formula is to pricey to be throwing out. It is still good...

Does it say anywhere on the can about what temp to store it in? If not you are ok to use it unless you just want to return it to the store and get a new can.
