The better the security of the nation the more it seems unecessary to the nation's people.

Chimpy McFlightsuit - I only think the tapping is "ok" is when the feds are monitoring suspected terrorists. I don't mind if they listen in to me and my wife when she asks for milk on my way home ;)

I would have to say yes....

Which is why we took for granted our security prior to 9/11

many of the security measures in place at airports today were determined unnecessary or not cost worthy, prior to the attacks...even though they were recommended by various agencies...they weren't legislated.

Alot of people still think the security at airports is "overkill" because it is an inconvenience and they haven't whitnessed any terror attacks first hand. You get a different opinion from the people who were actually near the towers on 9/11....they would probably say we need to do more, and I for one would agree with them.

Interesting statement. I think it is false. When people do not feel a direct threat they class this as safety in their minds while largely ignoring the reality of the situation. What is that reality? The fact that security is an illusion.

Edit: I changed the answer because I meant to say false rather than true.

Hey men, where were you, I didn't see you for ages, lol
No I wouldn't agree with that, does the Switzerland have the great security of the nation? No, and they are still feeling safe, there is one Latin phrase : "Bella gerant allii, tu felix Austria nube" it means others may lead wars, you, happy Austria, marry." Referring to Austria's cunning policy in early modern times to marry into all important royal houses.
-Not very good but I will survive, lol so what is happening with you?I guess that it's extra hot in Phoenix, I have a friend over there, that is updating me with new information, lol so did you recently argue with any Liberals, lol just kidding!

Not in these times.

Security is relative. No one, including the present Administration, was on guard on September 11. OUR security would be better maintained if our National Guard was here, instead of getting their lives and their equipment wasted in the deserts of Iraq.

That war is over, only a LOT of people are asleep to that fact.

it's true but it's one directional.

If we have good security then people will probably ask why we are spending so much on it.

but just because people question if we need certain securities, that does not make it a good one.

Wrong. Security itself is an illusion. Even during supposedly heightened states of alert, there will always be to penetrate that illusion. Just look how "well" the Israeli government's vigilance is working.

True...Kind of like the Mental Patient who takes his Meds, feels so much better, then quits taking them because he thinks he is cured....Then goes back to being nuts......
