depo shot?

has anybody taken the depo shot? how long after the three months did it take before you started your period any stories about the shot?

I was on it for four years and I'm so glad I'm OFF of it.

I would never ever ever recommend this to anyone, there are way too many women having way too many negative side affects for me to suggest this shot to anyone.

You may not ever get a period on depo, it just may be spotting at odd times. Or you may bleed for several weeks/months.

I took it a few years ago and swore I would never do it again. It is trendy for some women, but in reality it sucks. You have break thru bleeding because your not having a period. Your body never lets you know when this will happen, it's all a huge guess. So you carry around pad's or whatever just in case. I only had one shot and the gyno said it will stay in your system for a year at least, and you cannot get pregnant even if you tried. 99% of women have told me the same problems. Plus, you will gain weight, more than normal. I've met alot of women who got fat off of depo and were thin before. This should be taken off the market and now I wonder if it can also make you infertal...:( I was so shocked and upset about depo. The women who stay on it for years, I feel sorry for them. Birth control isn't supposed to be depressing...After that I used Yasmin, and thank god for it! But they only sell it over seas now I think.

Hey there, I had the depo shot once and it was the worst 3 months of my life. My mood swings were so so bad, I couldnt be around anyone! I had my period for the entire 3 months so no sex for 3 months which didn't help my mood swings, my advice, don't take it, take the pill, its way better.!!!

I'm on Depo Shot right now.But,some women have spotting when they are on it instead of a period and some don't.
