Its funny to me that the braves will build and bring up all these players and when they go to other teams they don't do near as well. furcal, betemit, farnsworth, larouche,dye is an exeption, drew, glavine. I think the braves have the best farm system for growing young talent i.e. francoer, escobar, mccann, salty etc

The Braves, Dodgers, and A's historically have done very well bringing along young talent. Other teams should learn from them as to what it takes to build for long term success. Teams like the Yankees spend all their money in the free agent market and look at the problems they are having.

Kyle Farnsworth was drafted and brought up by the Cubs, not the Braves; and Wilson Betemit was never a good player scouts just liked him because of his durability on the field. I would say Tom Glavine is doing just fine, 2 wins away from #300 and the ace on a team on its way to the playoffs.

The Braves are a great example of the whole being greater than its parts. Many of the players go to teams that need help and are not as good so the surrounding cast hurts thier performance. Pitchers don't have as good a defense behind them. Hitters get pitched around or are given nothing good to hit. etc
