Administrative Assistant has been known to hold a bit more responsibilty to it, as it infers direct support to principals within a business.

AA for the executive vice president.
Not as renown as a secretary, but just a tad below.
Where as office assistant seems to damper the level of responsiblity almost to the point where its equivalent to an office clerk(doing task for the office)

If you ever search another job, I would put AA as your title, rather than office assistant.

Any job title means only what a specific organization or company wants the title to mean. "Secretary" for instance can mean the person who types memo's and answers the phone for another person, or it can mean the person who runs the whole she-bang, as in Secretary of State.

it means that you are to be available to all rather than just him. it is a re-assignment of duties and you should receive a new job description to define your responsibilities so that you will know what is expected of you now.
