there is a lot more darkness. there is so much in our solar system alone and although the sun producing light is immense there is far more darkness. although of course we cannot know for sure as we are might a mere blot in the universe. there is so much out there which we do not know about and some we will probably never know about. i find it hard to believe that the universe go's on forever, but if it does all the stars will burn out eventually leaving only darkness. that is what many people believe death is, darkness, not me. it is man's life instict to cling onto the light, we are so scared of the dark. although there is so much of it we try not to think about it.
maybe that's best. we should enjoy what we have on this world. full of light and colour, full of poteintal. we may think we are crowded but if you think about it in the concept of the whole universe. we are so lonely. with no other life forms that we know of. even if there is it would be millions of light years away. and if there isn't well, it's an arwful waste of space

you would have to make tons of assumptions to give an answer.

lets assume that space is infinite.

there would be an infinite amount of darkness and an infinite amount of light. both cannot necessary appear in the exact same spot but ultimately it could be a matter of perspective.

in my closet i turn off the lights. Dark > Light

Turn the light on. Light > Dark

but maybe there is no darkness just lesser degrees of light or vice verse :-)...

kind of like what is more up or down?

I have no clue but it is fun thinking about it

i think there is more darkness in the world because when you look around all you see are wars and people hurting each other... and when you turn on the news how many times do you hear something good... like never... also the darkness is coming from destroying our earth because we are destroying eachother.... (like the wars) ... if everyone just looked to see what they were doing and opened their eyes life would be such a better place and we wouldnt have to worry about destroying our earth because we wouldnt be setting of as much smoke from destroying each other. We bring out the darkness in each other and until people realize that there will be no reason to value the light that is hiding

Darkness is nothing.

And I mean that as literally as possible. It is no thing. You can't put darkness on a table or measure it. There aren't units of darkness or particles that carry darkness.

The ONLY thing that 'darkness' signifies is that there isn't any light around.

So what is greater? Something that exists or something that is just a description of the absence of that thing that exists? It's like asking whether a hundred pounds is heavier than the empty space that might hold a hundred pounds. Existance beats out non-being every time.

Light.

Without darkness there can be no appreciation of what is light. Also, light does not always reveal truth. And since I can think of nothing clever to say about light, I guess my answer is darkness.

Light is in everyone's soul; unfortunately, you have to search longer to find it these days, but once found it overcomes all darkness.

The one sitting in darkness will see light
The one sitting in light will be blinded by darkness
There is nothing more or less
Everything is in equilibrium

There is by far more darkness in the universe, because the majority of the vaste expanse is uninhabited space.
