Is it simply becuase Democrats and Liberals are against it?
Is that all the value you place on our troops lives? Your hate for Democrats and Liberals is more important than their lives.

If this war is so "right and just", please tell us why. And please tell us if the loss of 3500 U.S. troops and thousands of Iraqi civilians are worth the reasons you listed to say it is a "right and just" war.

GoGo Girls - I have done many hours of research on this war and I cannot come up with a reasonable conclusion as to why we are there.

ahmosis - you listen way to much to Hannity and Limbaugh. You couldn't be further from the truth.

Jan Stolz - I guess I am simple. I was hoping that the lives of our troops and innocent Iraqi civilians was more important than profiteering.

B. Kevorkian - none of those are reasons given to the American public and the world for our invasion.

CS - do you really believe that the troops in Iraq are defending your rights and freedoms. Man, I have some swamp land you would be interested in buying.

Shadow - do you realize that the time span between 9-11 and the terrorist attack on the U.S. prior to that was a longer time period than between 9-11 and now. And do you realize that that attack was by a right-winged American?

ILConservative - I don't accept Iraq for "what it is" and I certainly think that there is someting that can be done about it. Staying the course is not working and as a result people are dying. you don't like the assumptions?? how about all the Conservatives that say Liberals support the terrorists and Liberals are against the troops. That is some of the biggest b.s. ever to be said. Liberals do support the troops. You can support the troops and not the war,. I sincerely happy for you that your husband made it back from Iraq safely. I want them all to come back safely.

I don't think it is fair to say Republicans "love" the war. We don't, however we are in it now, and many of your democratics senators also voted for the war. They made the same mistake. Their solution for ending it is to take out most of our troops, but not all, leaving a few behind to be bigger targets with no backup. People are entitled to oppose a plan that makes no sense. That does not mean that we love the war or want our own men fighting it. My husband is in the military too. He has been over there twice, so of course I would rather not have our troops over there. I don't want people losing loved ones to people that don't appreciate us or want us there. Maybe we should pull our troops out of everywhere and deport all people living here of middle eastern decent and not give any of them the benefit of the doubt. My disdain for liberals is based on questions like this, making assumptions about people. There is a difference between loving something and accepting that something is the way it is and realizing that you can't change it.

Do you like sitting on your butt, browsing the internet? Do you like getting into your car and paying half of what Europeans pay for gas? Do you like sputtering over to Target to check out the latest "dollar deals" bins? I bet you do.

Unfortunately your cosmopolitan lifestyles collide with your "we must be right and just" attitude.

The facts are this: the US is guilty of RUTHLESSLY pursuing what is in the best interests of the US. Look back for 50 years. You'll find out the the lifestyle you enjoy was made possible by the exploitation and coercion of peoples around the world. Where are your tears for them?

When was the last time you felt sorry for the Afghanis that fought a war against the Soviets under our direction - only to have us leave them dangling in the wind when the USSR collapsed? When was the last time you cried for the Iranians that were brutally suppressed by the Shah. The Shah we supported and depended on to keep the oil flowing? When was the last time you felt sorry for the Native Americans that had their land and lives pulled from under them?

So go ahead - curse Bush, shed your false tears for the soldiers fighting. Just don't pretend like you stand on some kind of moral high-ground. If that were truly the case, where are your tears for the Iraqis that will shed blood if we leave?

This war is no different. Like it or not, we have interests in the Middle East. The US will do what it must to protect these interests. That's what we've always done. I wouldn't have it any other way.

What geopolitical realists in the administration - in both parties really, though it would be political suicide to admit it as a Democrat - like about the Iraq War is that it puts lots of American military power right in the middle of the strategically-crucial Persian Gulf.

This gaurantees suplies of regional oil - Saudi oil, mainly, not Iraqi - can reach the United States and it's allies, which maintains strength of the world's most Expensive Millitary, which helps bolster both the US economy, and maintains it's supposed 'superpower' status.

Because the War happened under the Bush administration, Democrats reflexively take a public stance against it. But, you'll notice that, when the chips are down, they continue to fund it.

No it is not about money trouble maker...you are an idiot. I don't love the war, but I am not going to toot my horn screaming out that I hate the war, I hate the Administration simply because I can. I support this war because it is the least I can do for the troops defending my rights and freedoms so I can spew my 2 cents worth. They need the support of their Home Country which many do not unfortunately. I respect those fighting because they are willing to die for me and you. I appreciate those fighting and give them my best regards.

It's better than having Jihad Joe sitting in your backyard waiting to press the button on innocent people or living next door to you waiting for an opportunity, don't ya think? Have you noticed there have been no more attacks like 9/11? Watch the series: Sleeper Cell that should give you some true to life clues.

They don't love the war, sometimes you have to do hard things to stop things that would be even worse from happening later. The fact is that we are fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq and it would be extremely stupid to run away and let Al Qaeda have the victory.

Iraq was about PNAC and the cons go along because they think if they don't Rove will beat them up (the way he beat up John McCain in 2000). This fear of Rove shows that cons can't be trusted to run the country. Rove is a lightweight and yet they bow to him. No spine. Gutless. Chicken hawks just like Rove and Rush are....

GREAT QUESTION.

It is truly SAD AND FRIGHTENING how many still believe the lie that Saddam had ties to Al Qaeda and was involved in 9/11, even though that has been thoroughly debunked.
