I took this photo a few weeks ago in N.W. Arkansas and cant seem to find this dragonfly in the field guides, or on the internet.

Any help would be appreciated.

May be a Sympetrum corruptum -- Variegated Meadowhawk. The photos at this link are a bit "redder", but the pattern seems correct.

Another possibility is the Brown Hawker -- but I'm still checking for "range" information on that one. This is a UK link.
