Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Well, it depends.

If the substance is just like a clear[or whiteish] mucus type, then yes, it's called discharge, and it means within time [weeks, months] your period will come.

If the substance has a fishy smell to it, and is whiteish or light yellow, it could be a yeast infection.

If your not exactly sure I would ask a doctor at your next appointment or ask a parent/guardian you trust.

This website might come in handy as well.

Yep. That's cervical mucus, and estrogen is what causes that to be produced. estrogen is also what causes an egg to be relesed, when there's enough of it. as a girl matures theres a point where she has enough estrogen to produce cervical mucus but not enough to release an egg and have a full cycle. Usually your first period comes about a year or two after you start producing cervical mucus.

BTW, "discharge" is such a broad blanket term, anything that comes out of your vagina is discharge. There are many types of fluid that can come out of the vagina, they are all "discharged" but what you are referring to is cervical mucus.

Yes, but probably not for a while. Some girls get that discharge a year before they get their period.
