What is the estimated cost to replace the front pads and rotors on a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier? The car was squeaking and this is what Midas said needed to be replaced.

What would be the cost to do it yourself, and how difficult would it be?

Depends on the quality of the parts purchased. Off shore rotors and cheapie pads will run around $60. Higher quality around $110. for just the parts. Labour should be about 1 hour of what ever the shop rate is where you live. If you do it yourself make sure you service the caliper sliding mechanism. Most DIYers ignore this and end up with brake pulsation problems.

Like the others have said, it's not difficult. Try autopartsplace.com for parts or even ebay. I'll be cheaper than around $150 for all th parts.
