That's still very much up in the air. With Thompson not officially in the race, McCain imploding, Guiliani slipping and that Mormon guy still not garnering much support, it really doesn't look like the Reps /have/ a candidate to loose to Hillary or Obama yet.

You better hope they get thier act together: it'd be embarrassing to win the White House unopposed.

i think of George Bush will play a great section interior the death of the Republican occasion. Lyndon Johnson performed a great section interior the death of the Democratic occasion. Johnson even pronounced so himself and pronounced that it would constantly fee his occasion the southern vote. The south usually used to vote democratic, now it always votes Republican. i think of the journalists overlaying the election gets slightly of a ask your self this year while states that often flow pink flow blue. the great shocker could be Indiana probably going blue for the 1st time on the grounds that 1964. Indiana has in user-friendly terms voted democrat one time on the grounds that 1940. The financial equipment interior the midwest is rather undesirable top now because of the fact it noticeably is predicated upon production jobs that have been misplaced throughout the time of the Bush administration. McCain has supported a lot of Bush's regulations to win the Republican fee ticket, yet which could be his downfall come the national election. If I have been Obama, i'd tie McCain as heavily to Bush as achieveable and deem him as yet another 4 years of Bush. i think of the election determination will come all the way down to the Midwest, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. yet another ingredient that doesn't help to win those states, McCain already admitted he knows no longer something approximately economics. He even jested that he bought Greenspan's e book because of the fact he knows little or no approximately how the financial equipment works. The midwest desperately needs a greater effective financial equipment. after which with McCain choosing a working mate with little or no experience from a state based upon oil earnings i do no longer think of the midwest will look on that too nicely.

Rudy seems to be maintaining his lead on the GOP side. Things can happen, however. Remember Howard Dean was ahead before the primaries and then he made a big gaff by yelling when he shouldn't and gave people the impression he was a mad man. So the Democrats were stuck with Kerry in 04. Something similar could happen again with candidates on either side.

My guess is Romney. He has the money, looks and brains to get the nomination. Once he gets it after conning the cons he'll move to the middle and present a plan for a phased withdrawal from Iraq. He'll also push his version of "socialized medicine" that he introduced as Governor of Massachuesetts.

Romney will be a formidable foe.

Hilary won't win, and everyone knows it. Dem. votes are split. As a female, I would be absolutely devastated if Hilary Clinton was the first female president.
