I used to think that finding friends was a chore and so I didn't do it very often, but latley I have been finding that keeping up with the demands and needs of all my friends is more of a pain in the can than finding them. But eventulally I will problably go back to my first opinion.

What about you? Are finding friends more difficult than maintaining those friendships you DO have?

Hi Matticus!
Finding. I'm really good at keeping them. :)
I have a friend I've known since kindergarten and just recently reconnected with a girl I was friends with since birth.
My best friends I made at places I used to work- we still talk every day.

Its totally normal. I find it so difficult sometimes because before you know it another day is up. I just forget sometimes because i seem to be pretty busy all the time and have so many things on my mind. Dont feel bad, maybe write it down somewhere to call this person, and when you get a spare moment, just call them. Also they havent bothered to keep intouch with you, or give you a call, so they've probably forgotten too! Happy days!

I find it rather easy to meet new friends, but I agree that maintaining that friendship can sometimes be work. I feel that I don't always give my friends the attention they want/need from me because I'm pulled in so many different directions when it comes to life, relationships, work, school, etc.

Keeping friends is much harder. I only have few close friends and it takes all the emotional energy I have to truly maintain those relationships. I have lots of friendly acquaintances, but the commitment to true friendship is not there and it is easier to maintain.

i have no friends in real life. call me sad, but i find it hard bonding with others and trust is an issue. had a best friend who i thought i could trust and he stitched me up. bullied through school for being pretty and hate college. and in a hostel, people are your friend because you're in the same boat, but when you leave like i did, you lose touch.
i think it depends on the kind of person you are. i find making friends hard. but when i have had friends, i've maintained it on my part until i've been crossed.

I find it harder to keep friends.

When making friends, you have fun spending time with them and getting to know them, but keeping them is so much harder for me- I tend to get sick of people very easily and then I start not being nice when they annoy me, and I lose friends because Im a bi***.

I agree because to keep a friend you have to be there as a friend more often than it is usually convenient to. I think it has something to do with age because you have more time for friends when you are younger than you do now.

I have more difficulty finding friends. Now that I am newly single at 35, just moved, etc., I am finding that it is harder for me to go out and meet new people.

Keeping friends is harder. One little mistake can ruin a friendship forever. You can make friends by simply saying "Hi."

Maintaining the friendships. Only time can tell if they are true friendships or not.
