England and France would most likely have recognized the south. The northerners would've mostly likely have sued for peace and the war would've ended.

if we had only broken their center and defeated the damn yanks , Lee would have had a clear path to Washington taken the place over UNTIL, the Yanks brought that other arm from behind their back and beat us over the head with it. The war perhaps might have lasted into the seventies, maybe even 80's but the outcome would have remained the same. Prolonged YES, won FAT CHANCE.
And only the slaves knew what it was about until the emancipation proclamation. ALL men are created equal, white black, brown ,as the yanks and rebs found out in that horrific war, we ALL bleed red!!

The war would have gone on much longer. It is also possible that the Confederates could have won, but I doubt it unless England interfered. This is a great fear of the Yankees.

Long live the memory of George Gordon Meade, Hugh Judson Kilpatrick, Henry Jackson Hunt, Winfield Scott Hancock, Oliver Otis Howard, Abner Doubleday, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, and the Army of the Potomac.

U.S. Grant would of been put in over-all command 6 months earlier than he was, therefore the war would of been over sooner.

Then we would have taken Washington! The British and French would have witnessed Washington fall, and they would have sent their navies and smashed the Union naval blockade. Next, the British and French would have landed ground forces and assisted the South as it defended its homeland.

You would be a country full of slave-owning rednecks rather than just a country full of rednecks.
