Some other things in life just may be more important to you and you are consciously or unconsciously making other things a priority.
However, having said that and working in the field of Psychology, oftentimes people stand in the way of their success out of fear and oftentimes don't even realize it. You may think this sounds weird but in knowing what I do about human motives, I don't think it's a bad idea just to mention this to a professional counselor/therapist.
The fact that you have it here in this forum as a question tells me you care more about this than you possibly even know (even if it's subconsciously).
Remember too, it's not even necessarily about being famous, there may be things that you are doing that are hindering you in becoming more succesful even if you have the talent that can be addressed with a good counselor.
The 2 go hand-in-hand.

Maybe you just love music and that is what it's about for you. There are many pop-stars who make millions of dollars and don't give a damn about the music. Stardom is a dream of its own, an empty one if you use the stars of today as examples. Making music... real, honest music that requires actual knowledge, feeling and technique, that is a goal that dose not necessarily walk hand in hand with stardom.

Yes its quite normal. Who wants to be stalked by paparazzi all day and night ? Many celebrities may have millions of dollars, but seem to be miserable. Many are have been drug addicts for years. What kind of life is that to live?
Enjoy the freedom you have by keeping your personal life private. You can be successful and most importantly, happy, without all the glitz and glam.

How does this even remotely relate to LGBT issues?
Only you can answer what your motivations are, not us.
