You are right, they will. Tiger Barbs are aggressive fish and more than likely will nip the fins off your betta. Keep him separated from them. Don't put any angelfish in with your barbs either...same thing.
Why not go with a community of barb-type fish. They have numerous colorings, sizes and they will all get along.

The Tiger Barbs will absolutely tear the Betta to shreds. Bettas are very peaceful, except towards their own species. The nippy Tiger Barbs will shred the Betta's fins quickly. Also, Plecostomus get about 2 feet long, so it needs about a 55 gallon tank. If you keep it in anything smaller than a 30 gallon tank, you are killing the fish. You might want to get more Tiger Barbs, they do best in larger numbers. 5 Tiger Barbs might be good, but they would need a tank larger than 15 gallons. Good luck!

Tigers will tear the hell out of it. You need to get more tigers. A minimum of 6 tigers is best to keep them happy and healthy. Good tank mates for the tigers are any kind of loach or botia and cat fish types. Other schooling fish can be ok if they are quick and not too small. Otocinclus and Siamese Algae eaters are good too. They also keep your tank and plants clean.

Tigers are fin nippers, and a beta is a very vain fish he doesn't do good with fin nippers. you might get lucky though if you add more tigers to your tank first make a school of 5 or more....they prefer to swim around in a school than nip if you do that, but be ready to pull that beta out if need be, keep a eye on him and if his fins start looking ragged then get him out of the tank.......and just as a extra thought like I said Betta's are vain fish they like to be the prettiest in the tank and they don't like fin nippers, but ONE can be put in a community tank, though I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a tank of tetras

bettas and tiger barbs do not go together. The barbs will tortue the betta to death. Don't do it. You could have a really pretty tank with various types of barbs. Green tiger barbs are gorgeous in my opinion.

You're right. The Betta's flowing fins will be a constant moving target for the Barbs. That'd be a terrible way to die! Bettas can live with other fish - here's a website for you to look at.

Well Betas are also known as "fighting fish" they are very aggressive and prefer to live alone ... when choosing fish for your tank you should take the time out to ask someone that works there ... they will be able to tell you what fish go best with your tiger bars ..
