People always say no, but everytime I see a girl who says she takes it, she is usually a bit on the chubby side. Could the pill have played a factor? Even if only a little bit? If I decide to take the pill, is their ANYTHING I have to worry about?

It can be a side effect, yes.

Talk to your doctor though. For me I didn't gain any weight but it was just harder for me to lose weight. That's it. If your only problem with the pill is that there may be weight gain, I suggest you look at your priorities.

Weight gain is far better than an unexpected pregnancy.

Birth control pills have proven over time to be very safe.

You have virtually nothing to worry about if you are under about 35 and don't smoke (smoking only matters if you are over 35).

Birth control pills have not been shown to be a factor in weight gain studies.

It is not likely that birth control pill usage is a factor with the person you mention.

There are always things to worry about. The Pill affects everyone differently. Discuss the possibility of taking the pill with your physician. Some side affects range from vaginal dryness to blood clots. Your doctor should go over everything with you. Make clear to him/her all of your concerns. When you do start and you do not like the way if affects you, you may try different brands. I went through three of them!

Yes, going on the pill can make you gain weight so you'll have to watch what you eat and exercise more. You also cannot smoke while on the pill because it has a very high incidence of causing blood clots.

Birth control can lead you to gain weight, but my doctor said that no matter what, it all depends on what you put in your mouth to eat and whether or not you excersize.

In my case, it made me lose weight because I lost my appetite, my friend who takes the same brand birth control as me, got a slightly overstimulated appetite and has since gained a few pounds.

It really depends on the person and individual birth control pill brand.
