For all those who single out Bush on this one.....
Can you explain to me how this is all HIS fault when Teddy wrote the Bill, and 39 out of 50 (78%) of Democrat Senators voted for it? Wasn't it Teddy who brought it up for vote?
Just a question here............

3D...I respect your "Vigor" but the question is why did a Democrat write it and 78% of Demcrat Senators Support it?

You are most certainly correct. But I think people are judging his political affilliation more. Him supporting this bill raises questions because normally a Republican Conservative would be against a bill like that. I think he's just trying to find some common ground on some political issues with the Democrats. I also lost some respect for him when he backed that bill.

Bush wants a North American Union and how else can he keep the borders open except with the Amnesty Bill.
Along with the NAU he wants NAFTA Super Highway to be completed from Mexico to Canada , so don't close the borders , or it can't happen . That's why he was behind the Bill !!!
He hasn't and will not do anything to CLOSE THE BORDERS .
He was elected to enforce US Laws , but he has worked hard to allow illegal immigration to continue into this country .
Bush keeps saying he has gone to war to make the US safer , now , I ask you , how does it keep us safer by keeping the borders open for anyone to cross into the US ?
Mr. President if you want to make America safer , you have to CLOSE THE BORDERS !!!!!
You can't have it both ways .
Mr President , "Close the Borders , NOW !!!!!!
American citizens , don't sit back yet , the Democrats and the President are going to try to pass some or all of the Amnesty Bill again and again . It's to important to the LaRaza and Corporations , to just drop it . America , keep alert !!!

I am a Bush supporter and I can tell you this: I hated this immigration bill because it did nothing to stop our border flood to the south. It was just another amnesty bill and GW supported it. This was one of a number of things GW did that I had trouble with. Dubai Ports was another thing as well as the silly prescription drug program for seniors which is already running deficits like I suspected it would. I voted for a republican and i ended up with a democrat! Thats why I blame him. That being said even knowing what I know now I still couldnt vote for either Kerry or Gore.

because hardly any one thinks for themselves anymore, if they don't read it or hear it from someone else in their party they won't know what to say at all, this is why they make a social issue into a political issue, and this bill was big business vs. the people, and look how hard they tried to pass this thing even though 75% of the people didn't want it, and they still brought it back and tried again!

Teddy was the one to present it - Bush was the staunch supporter, along with many of his advisors. It was HIS bill.
I am well aware that the democrats voted in favor of it. But what is more important is that it failed, and hopefully won't see the light of day. . .

You mean the Kennedy-McCain Bill that Bush so enthusiastically supported.
Bush lobbied hard with the Republicans in Congress to get Amnesty passed, he deserves a fair shair of the blame.

Yes, but any rational person would've seen Teddy's name on it and tossed it into the shredder.
