Is there no such thing as an elite conspiracy?
Are the elite just non-conspiratorial by nature?
Are the wealthiest people in the world generally good, with no bad intentions?
Does power corrupt people, or make them better people?
Why do you roll your eyes when you hear someone say, "elite conspiracy"?

thegumbit - you are more likely to hear about the wackier ones than the more rational ones, because the media marginalizes all of them to the point that nobody even believes an elite conspiracy is possible.

Actually, I just chuckle.
I'd probably believe one, maybe two things that may have involved elite conspiracies at one time or another, but since you types want to blame practically every ill of society, ranging from AIDS to drug addiction to terrorist attacks on one elite conspiracy or another, it tends to get a little unbelievable.
Maybe if y'all just toned down the wackier conspiracies down a little, some sane person would actually start believing one or two of them.

That is a lot of questions. Here are my answers:
1. Sometimes I do roll my eyes, and sometimes I don't. It depends on who says it and what context they are using that phrase in.
2. Although it is not clearly organized in any general way, I think you can make a fair argument that there is an elite conspiracy. "Conspiracy" might be a unfair term to use, but in some places and contexts rich people certainly do whatever they can to limit inclusion into their group, because the less wealthy people there are, the more wealth they each get to keep. The same holds true for power. That has been historically proven in many contexts... but not in all areas.
3. The elite are no more conspiratorial than any other exclusive group of people. By nature, more humans are conspiratorial, especially those that are in power. The more resources you have and the more you have to lose, the more likely to conspire you are.
4. No. The wealthiest people are not generally good. They do a lot more harm than good. They are not all 100% bad, but to think that they are good is naive and contrary to history.
5. Power does corrupt most people. By nature, if you have power, you will want to keep it. Most will do whatever they can to keep it, and that means corruption. Very few people get power and give it up easily, but there are exceptions to the rule. Money often corrupts as well, though again, there are notable exceptions to the rule.
6. I roll my eyes when I hear that phrase used because, generally speaking, it is vague and arbitrary. It is often used when not appropriate, and is applied to many different situations that are simply not related to one another. Generally speaking, unless someone is making a specific accusation with specific evidence, then I am suspicious of anyone's claims of conspiracy... but that does not make all conspiracy theories invalid.

If you do roll your eyes when you hear the word conspiracy then you are part of the reason this country is going to hell in a hand bag. People are too lazy to find out what's really happening and believe everything they hear from the main-stream media. In short, they cease being people and become sheeple. I, for one, roll my eyes when I hear people denounce truth as a conspiracy.

For a second I roll my eyes then get angry. Tired of the BS we are handed. The only war on terror that should be fought is against our corrupt government with a revolution. Lets try peacefully first. Ron Paul to save the country. Only man speaking truths in this neocon nightmare. Dont think for a second that Obama or clinton will do anything but buisness as usual. Time for the suckers to cash in and wake up to this dictatorship before we find ourselves in martial law. Bush is setting the stage and they are ready. Look up fema camps on you tube for the nay sayers and all that want to be informed.

Power definitely changes people for the worse. Tends to make them greedy. Greedy people no longer care about others, just themselves.
I love hearing conspiracies. I often contemplate where it started and how someone could come up with something so crazy, but after looking into it it's really interesting.
