They might as well leave it blank because if they don't specify the source, one would logically assume that it's "me".

Absolutely not, there are many people here who have much to offer. I would much rather have someones opinion, even if I don't agree, than some words quoted from a website or book, although we can learn from those too. If I want quotes or info from a website or book I can always look those up myself...yes I know how to google. Experience is sometimes the best teacher and often times we can learn so much more in opening our minds and our hearts to those who have something worthwhile to say. We can say you would logically assume but can we really "assume" anything in life. They might be getting their answer from the person sitting next to them and posting something they may not even agree with. Great question.

No, actually, that is not logically true at all. If they don't put "me," then it could come from almost anywhere. A lot of people don't cite their sources, even when they have them, or don't remember what their sources even were, and then just state something as a fact. When they just put "me," then you don't even have to wonder about it. Being that it doesn't hurt anything, why would it bother you when people do it? At least that way you know as a fact that they are merely stating their opinion. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. I wish more people did it.

i agree cuz logically, if you posted it, apparently the source is you. when they're asking for a source, i usually leave it blank, unless theres a website or something that i researched on

Yeah, it particularly is stressful, extraordinarily on p&s whilst many of the questions do in certainty require your opinion and it particularly is obtrusive they're wanting your opinion. subsequently a source is nicely slightly pointless.

Doesn't bother me much, really. If they personally came up with the answer, let them take points for it. What I don't like is when someone will take claim for another persons work - plagiarizing.

I guess some people do that because they don't want anyone to think they copied info that was actually out of their own mind.

No not necessarily this way we know its a definite opinion on the answerer's part not something they read or experienced.

No. It usually means that people are basing their answer on their personal knowledge or experience.
