My husband misses his native country and suddenly says he wants to go back there to live, but then said he didn't mean it. He just wants to go visit. He misses his country and feels down sometimes. How can I do to help him? What should he do?

He will always miss his country. It's his cross to carry. There's no harm in visiting - when he's there, he will quickly remember why he lives elsewhere!

P.S. Depending on where you live, there might be a Russian community - he could get more involved in it and make some friends. Sadly, there's no real way to get rid of the nostalgia completely, if you're prone to it (as many Russians tend to be).

I'm Canadian and my wife was born in Poland. We live in Canada. Yes, she misses her hometown and friends and other family there. She wants to go back for a visit. When we get the money, she will go with our kids, but I won't go with her. I don't like travelling and I don't know the language. That's just me.
Do what you can with your husband. If he really wants to live there again, the two of you should have a long talk. You should go with him for a visit. Keep an open mind. Could you really see yourself there permanently? Is it really so bad? What would he do, if the situation was reversed? If you do move there, you will miss your hometown too. Maybe, after the visit, he will appreciate where you are now. Let him answer his questions. Maybe you two could plan on making yearly visits.
Whatever happens, the two of you must be happy with the decision.

I would get a ticket for him to go on a small vacation so that he can visit his country. If it's this important to him this will show him that you really care about him and his feelings and want to help him be happy.

Get him a bottle of vodka, then yell at him and beat on him with a whip made from barbed wire. The nostolgia will quickly pass.
