I think we could do away with parties completely and have each candidate run on the strength of their own ideas.

There are plenty of registered parties now but they get no attention from the media.Do some homework, pick one, support them and most importantly vote them in at the local levels to gain access to media coverage and give the party some leverage for growth. In the mean time if a popular person was to emerge and adopt 3rd party philosophies he might win but currently 3rd party candidates only siphons away votes from the two party candidates. Most importantly dont think your one vote for a 3rd party candidate is wasted because if we all voted for them they would win.

A third party wont help, in the long run. That third party will just take the place of one of the major two parties, and in time will just be one of the two crappy parties. The problem is with the structure of the government, which causes the 2-party problem in the first place.

superb diagnosis, however the electorate "pass domicile" to the two of the two events while the elections roll around. The polarization considered in the present day isn't making Obama a quasi-autonomous. the only way that ought to ensue is that if a fractured occasion finally ends up with a 2012 customary brawl the place the president slides by using on the slimmest of margins....and makes him a Democrat in call on my own. and that they're going to lose the Oval workplace in the variety of state of affairs, besides.

Yes, the question is how will you accomplish the task of bringing in a third party? If you got answers I am all ears.
Email me if you want someone willing to volunteer to help get a third party off the ground.

I think it would be best to vote for candidates who represent your positions and beliefs, despite any "party" affiliation. The party may try to bring pressure on the official later, so it is important to determine he or she has the character to stand up for what is right.

It may be time for a third party, but who is to say they would not become corrupt as well. As Machiavelli said "To have power is to abuse it".
