When first entering the middle school in Belen New Mexico they said that we have to get Gardasil (or however you spell it) shots! we cant enter in middle school without them! why do we have to get these? i wanna avoid any shots that i dont have to take!! HELP!!! and thnx!

I know you are supposed to get it but we are going to middle school and me and y friends arent dumb enough to have sex! i mean come on!!!

You shouldn't have to take them. See what you need to do to opt out of getting them administered. I know in my area you don't have to take them, you just need a parent to sign off on getting the shot.

belive me if they are doing it its for a good reason!!! there is certain viruses that your body may get at certain age so maybe thats a shot for it.... when i entered middle school we were required some shots too, and me being afraid of them didnt take them... so i went on untill i got hepatitis... i later found out that i could of prevented it if i got that stupid shot in the first place... and belive me its not a pleasant thing to get!

It is a preventative measure to help protect against most forms of HPV. You should take this shot, it will protect you against 4 of the known types.

Gradasil is a shot that help prevent HPV that could cause cervical cancer. I had my mine down and it wasn't that bad. You should visit www.gradasil.com and read up on it. They recommend girls get the shot before they have sex so there less risk of them have HPV already. Three shot are better then get cervical cancer right.
