Tampons didnt hurt at first for me. They were a little uncomfortable but they never hurt. You have to make sure that they are positioned right and everything. I love them now- I cant even tell they're in.. You'll get used to them and they're much better than pads, trust me..

Depends what your threshhold for pain is, and how tight your vagina is, like Chris B's lady said... some people are cry babies, and some girls are just naturally bigger or smaller than others. Best way to find out is, even though it may sound gross, is to just stick your middle finger in. That will give you a better idea where and what angle the tampon needs to go in at, and if you can get your middle finger all the way in, tampons aren't much bigger around so you should be able to get one in no problem. Start with a lite/junior/slim tampon and remember that the most common mistake is not putting them far enough in. It takes almost every one a few ties before they get one in right so don't get stressed if you go through a few first.

They don't hurt. If they do, it is because the tampon is not in far enough. When you start using them there might be a slightly uncomfortable feeling, but it should go away quickly. As long as the tampon is in properly, you don't even feel it.

Not if you do it right. Use plastic ones like tampax pearls they also have plastic over the cotton part so as long as you are moist it won't hurt at all. If you are a virgin in might hurt a little the very first time but nothing major. They are WAY better than pads.

they arent supposed to hurt, if they do, they are inserted incorrectly.

if you dont want to use a tampon, for health risk reasons, look into the instead cup, it can stay in up to 12 hours (unless you are heavy flow, then you need to change it more often)

Only if it is inserted incorrectly.

I also experienced some pain with certain brands. You may need to try a few different ones before you find one that is comfortable for you.

They only hurt if you do not put them in correctly. And if you do not get the right size for your body.
