Vick will not be suspended right away. He's not a repeat offender so the NFL is waiting to see if he's convicted or plea bargains. I would say he'll probably not be suspended for any games in the 2007 season, because the trial will start during the season.
I think they should stay tight and look at cheaper options at QB. Aaron Brooks could be a decent one-year signing, but there's a reason why no team has signed him... Because he's not very good at this point of his career.
I imagine Culpepper wants a longer term deal, not a one-year tryout. Signing Culpepper means the Falcons don't think Vick has a future with the team...
I think the Falcons should go with Joey Harrington as the backup. He's an okay QB with accuracy problems (like Vick). The team will probably still emphasize the rushing attack so it's not like Harrington will be asked to win games single-handedly.

I think the Falcons should strongly consider signing Daunte Culpepper, due to the fact they do not have Matt Schuab as a backup solution any more and that Michael Vick's current situation does not look to good. I believe Duante Culpepper is going to have a good season, he wants to work hard and become the best as he has displayed for the dolphins during this summer. Aaron Brooks career as a starter has come to a end after his display as the Oakland Raiders staring quarterback and the worst record in the league. I believe he would be a good backup do to his experience.

I was just talking about this yesterday. The Falcons might be better off taking their chances on Culpepper, saving millions of dollars from releasing Vick, and keeping Joey Harrington on the bench. Now...Culpepper isn't going to get them to any Super Bowls, but he might save them from being slightly more humiliated...Aaron Brooks, at this point, is worth no more than a back up, he's pretty much done playing.

Culpepper is coming of knee surgery and still wants a big contract. Aaron Brooks cant run an offense any better than Harrington. Harrington has already been geting the reps with the first team. DJ Shockley is behind him and they have said that he is turning out to be a solid back up.

Okay.. as a die hard, long time (well before Vick) Falcons fan I have to say that this year looks pretty dismal. However, I do think that Daunte could be a great fit for Atlanta. Daunte, when healthy is a big mobile guy.. small hands.. but mobile. I would love to see him in a Falcons uni because if I have to root for Harrington, my Sunday's will be long and painful!
Sign Daunte now before Jacksonville does and they just sit him on the bench!

Culpepper would be a nice addition and might actually help the Falcons be a contender this year. I think it's a blessing if Michael Vick gets suspended this season!

The Falcons' first regular season game is against the Vikings. It would be a great story if Culpepper was their starting QB.

WHY?!?! Brooks smells like dead fish and Culpepper, well, he wants to be a starter not a back up. Only if Vick is gone would they consider it. I personally don't think Culpepper is ready. His knee surgery is still too fresh and he's not working hard enough

The Falcons better sign someone fast. I think Brooks would be better than Culpepper but Dante might be cheaper.

The only problem with Aaron Brooks is that he likes to throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage like 10 yards behind it. Im a Saints fan and remember that play perfectly.
