I am going on vacation, and I don't want to be on my period the whole time! Is there anything that doesn't need to be prescribed that I can take to delay it or start early??

Other than if you are already on the pill, the only way is with a medication called norithisterone, but this needs to be started at least four days before your period is due. In this case you would need to see your doctor to get a script. If this isn't soon enough, the only other option is to go to your drug store and pick up some Insteads. Insteads are a menstrual cup that can safely be left in place for up to 12 hours. You can read more about them here

There is nothing you can do to stop your period if you are already on it.

If you have some time before vacation, talk to your doctor about delaying it for your vacation.

If your on birth control, you will know exactly the day your going to start...the week that you would take the other pills (that is, the week you would have your period) don't take the other pills...continue taking the actual birth control pills. If you do that, you won't have your period...if your not on birth control...i really don't know what to tell you. and it also depends on which birth control you are using. Maybe try scheduling your vacation around that time.

You can ask the doctor for birth pills or other suggestions that might help-I'm on my period right now and it sucks, but I know it'll go away soon. Just hang in there and you'll be fine.

No. The only way is if you are on the pill but I can tell you probably already know that.

I don't know about stopping it. But Magneisium is the best thing out there for cramps.
