I am 8 weeks pregnant and started bleeding. I have had two ultrasounds and both have indicated the fetus is miscarrying. There is no heartbeat and the fetus is no longer viable. But the miscarriage has stopped and I don't want a D&C. I want to know if I can help the miscarriage along naturally - without medical intervention.

Too dangerous, you need a d and c whether you want one or not.
You don't want an infection or anything like that from left over material in there. Please, just do it.

Sorry for your loss

I am very sorry that the foetus is not viable..You say that you do not want a D and C.I can understand the distress that it must be causing. If you do not have the D/C several things may happen
you continue to bleed-it may get very heavy
it may naturally expel itself-can not say when May being the operative word
you may have an incomplete miscarriage

In all the above there is a definite risk of infection .this is a concern-the retained products(sorry to be blunt) can be an area very prone to infection. this would increase bleeding and possibly affect future fertility.

Although hard D/C is the best least risky option for your present and future health
