If a reporter from Fox or CNN or CBS or NBC or any major news network interviewed Bin laden, what do you think would be the laundry list that he would give to justify his hatred for the United States?

I am not interested in your view, but rather what you think (truthfully) Bin Laden himself would say. Perhaps you know what he would say because you have heard or read specific statements that he has made etc.

once again, I dont want your reasoning for why he hates us, I want to hear something that sounds like a quote from the man's own mouth.

wow. It seems many americans cannot read or follow instructions.

The man asked for not your personal opinion but rather what you think Bin Laden would say. Yet many insist on talking from the american point of view. Is this whats wrong with america? that we cannot see the world from another man's point of view? are we that far gone? too selfish?

I think if a microphone were put in front of Bin Laden, he would say something like this:

"Americans have for decades meddled in the affairs of arabs and muslims to their detriment. They have been the main supporter of Israel..which would never have been established without american support. The israeli military is funded by the USA, and those weapons are used to kill muslims everyday. Americans invade arab countries and want to tell them what kind of governement to have and to occupy their lands. Americans even have their soldiers on holy lands of muslims which is a sacrilege. I have told muslims all along that americans have it out for muslims and arabs and the so called war on terror is actually a crusade for them to exterminate us".

This is what I think is the kind of thing Bin Laden would say if interviewed.

There are a lot of reasons that people hate America, and even more reasons for people to hate western culture. I am not going to comment on whether the reasons are good or not.

Americans are often disliked because the wealth in this country inspires jealousy. Jealousy is often enough reason for people to start looking for things to hate about another person or culture. There are cries that America is imperialistic, egocentric, intolerant, etc. This may be true, but not anymore so that many other cultures. We are simply in a very high profile position and under tremendous scrutiny.

With regard to the terrorists however, that is another story. The Islamic extremists abhore the west. They believe that we stand for all that is "evil", to compound the problem there is still a lot of animosity stemming back from The Crusades. western (anglo) Christians came in and violently asserted themselves in many Islamic areas. Culturally these groups have a very long memory and these same western (anglo) Christians are still identified as the enemy. Because the U.S. is seen by many as being the penultimate example "western culture" we are naturally the focus of much of the vitriolic rhetoric (having a "main" enemy for focus is an effective tool in growing the support of the people you are trying to rally). Never forget however that these same groups who espouse so much hatred for the U.S. also carry out terrorist attacks in many other European countries.

A good review of the history of the relationship between the West and the Middle East will probably answer a lot of your questions.

Great question - good luck!

To be honest, the United States have a history of forcing countries to assimilate to our "democratic" ways. For example, at the end of World War 1, Germany was forced to change governments and because of the weakened German government, Hitler was able to rise to power. So, indirectly, we helped the holocaust happen. Americans never learn from their mistakes and have a huge ego and attitude problem. We believe our ways are the only right ways and that is wrong. We need to stop being so nosey and realize that people can be happy without our capitalistic ways or predominantly Christian religion. If asked for help, I believe we, as a country, should give it. If not asked, we should keep out of it. I guess you could say I am a modern day isolationist, let's help our own and only help others when asked and only strike when directly attacked.

Simple bin Laden's view is the same as many many people in the Middle East.

We as American's support the state of Isireal. We finance them, we support them militarily, we support them in the UN and all treaty negotiations. You must remember the people of the Middle East see the Jews as outsiders who stole land from the Palestines to create their own country. Also we are frown upon because we chose to stick our nose in the affairs of almost every country over there and call it diplomacy when they percieve it as being about the oil.
Also remember we have now invaded Iraq which is in the middle east and we are trying to impose our will upon those people (ie: trying to form a democracy)

This is probably what you would hear Bin Laden say.

I think it's to do with the way America has acquired vast wealth not through its own efforts or through normal trade but by attacking and invading other countries for their natural resources. Iraq is the major case in point at the moment but the US has a long history of attacking other countries or assisting in the overthrow of democratic governments etc, dating back to the 1950s or before, to assure the government of those countries is one that's favourable to the US' own financial interests.
The US claims to want to see democracy (especially in the Middle East) but the means it uses to force democracy on other countries are far from being democratic! It seems that the definition of democracy for the US is 'countries that do what we say'!
If you dispute this you only have to look at the US government's stated aims for world domination as part of the 'New American Century' - it's a terribly worrying idea and I can understand why it could generate hatred.
This wealth, meanwhile, has been used not for good means but to line the pockets of massively wealthy individuals and corporations while other countries (and indeed a lot of people in the US itself) get more and more poverty-stricken.
And, partly as a result of all this, Americans (as a whole, I know there are plenty of honourable decent ones) get morbidly obese through greed, and get into gambling and porn through lack of moral standards. One can see why all this is far from attractive.

well the first thing you need to bear in mind is that bin laden is a certifiable nut case.

he really thinks that his god has ordained him to do certain things - as a result he has mortally offended some good muslims by wearing and parading around in sacred and precious robes that were supposedly owned by some historical figure - that he had no business in touching, let alone actually wearing.

bin laden, was further shielded by his status as a very wealthy saudi arabian - who exhiled him, rather than incarcerate or institutionalize him.

asking why a guy like bin laden 'hates' is like asking why charles manson killed the people he killed.

the reason really doesn't matter when you are dealing with crazy people...

Bin Laden is evil and is just using Americans as an excuse so he can keep on being evil and not spend his money to help others or teach them to love. Evil people always use excuses instead of trying to solve the real problems, because they want power and are very greedy.

It symbolizes replace. different united states of america's view us as hypocrites, a rustic that would not stay as much as the ideals we carry so costly. we are saying every physique can grow to be something, yet we've had male white presidents for our entire life - earlier. and a few united states of america reported that for the final two decades we've had the two a Bush or a Clinton in place of work, yet each and every physique's meant to be equivalent and function an equivalent shot at greatness here. we've been a rustic of contradictions and the certainty that we elected a dismal skinned guy whose father grow to be from Kenya, who got here from basic beginnings as our president shows that we are turning out to be and changing and becomming the united states of america we are meant to be. Why are we rebuliding Iraq whilst shall we be rebuilding New Orleans or spending the money helping human beings here? i'm professional determination, maximum Republicans are not and maximum of them want to proceed spending income Iraq instead of making an investment interior the U. Bad premise, the terrorists hate everyone.

They're beheading Buddhists in Thailand - what did Thai Buddhists ever do to anyone? They're the only people in the goddam country that don't run around trying to get you to ride in their tuk tuk to their cousin's jewelry store.
