It depends on your definiton of what rich is. I myself, would count as middle-class, I can live a pretty good life, but I have to work to maintain it...meaning I'm about 2 months pay away from being poor. lol

I have a few relatives/friends that are rich (e.g. millionaires), even with Michigan's current economy. I have always thought of America in this way...40% below poverty line, 30% at poverty line, 20% middle class, 10% above or rich. It would be nice, but if everyone was the same...where would the excitement in life come from? I mean, there wouldn't be that drive for success or a need for some of the jobs that keep our society going.

Well I live well but not rich. My husband is in the Military plus I might be working here soon but not rich. It is hard with all the bills to pay but monthly we range about 3,000.... But we live in Houston, TX very expensive so most of it is gone on bills. We live wealthy but I am certainly not GREEDY I love giving money to charity and stuff it makes me feel good. I love buying my son things before I buy them for myself. I love helping people. I would never consider myself GREEDY. My mom is a LPN and my father is a armed security guard so my family was pretty wealthy. hm mm I am never greedy!

The question I have for you is, what would you being willing to trade for wealth? Riddle me this. Do you have the ability to love and be loved? Are you healthy? Young? If you answered yes to all three, I'd be willing to bet there are plenty of wealthy people who would trade everything for what you have. It does suck being poor, been there, done that. I am not wealthy now, but I have the basic plus needs met. One of my greatest fears is losing my job, or making bad decisions and ending up there again. What are you willing to trade to get out of your situation? One way out is to marry someone you don't love. Of course, as the old saying goes, be careful of what you ask for, you might get it. Personally, I'd rather live is a small house with someone I care about than in a huge house with someone who was just a meal ticket.

As compared to tribesman living on the plains of Africa, I'm filthy rich.

Compared to Bill Gates, I'm not even a blip on the radar.

But I'm rich in other ways, that don't involve money.

<1% of the population have an income of 1,000,000 per year.

you don't need money to be happy and calling yourself spoiled rotten isn't exactly the most charming thing to say

people need to break away from money and a system of trade and do things for themselves. It's to hard to leave the system completely, but to find a way to be happy and have fun without buying things is as easy as going outside, walking or running around, and finding something new to investigate.

My family is pretty well off but other than our house and the gifts we get you would never be able to tell. It looks like we are average. So I guess that you get a little greedy if you are like me, lol!
