And how much crack did this AP writer have to smoke to consider $2.80 a gallon a break???? Are they counting on us being brainwashed this quickly and actually thinking $2.80 is fair deal???? What next, hike it to $4.00 a gallon and then tell us $3.80 is a steal.... Thank you congress for AGAIN letting capitolism rule democracy, you should all be fired and stripped of your rights for your lack of care for the people you are supposed to represent.

Check out how much your local and state goverment taxes a gallon of gas at the pump. Next, figure in the production costs for the over 50 blends of gasoline each refiner must produce to meet the various environmental laws for different communities. Then check out the volume of traffic in your area. Add to that the fact that we haven't built a refinery in 30 years in this country.
Capitalism works! What hampers things is intrusive government regulation, excessive taxation on a retail product and widespread economic illiteracy in the U.S. adult population.
