Depends who I'm talking to. If it's a personal relationship conversation then yes; if it's a professional conversation then no.

At work I can't afford to BS. I can really get screwed if I was called on something I previously stated. I try not to do this in my personal life as well but I do falter now and then.

It's a bad habit to claim something is a fact if indeed you don't have a reliable source instantly available at that moment. I like to have three of those sources actually.
