Why is section 1007 of the patriot act even included .With years of preparation why did it get tossed in .?

Sec. 1007. Authorization of funds for DEA police training in South and Central Asia. This provision authorizes money for anti-drug training in the Republic of Turkey, and for increased precursor chemical control efforts in the South and Central Asia region. Not in original Administration proposal.
This provision had with it a 5,000,000 dollar minimum .

With the huge number of pages and scope of the patriot act is it any wonder no one will read through it .

Its an amazing piece of work which must have taken years to produce .

Guess if I supplied the Chemicals to take down the world trade center buildings I would want some compensation .

I always ask way something is included and it seems like payment above and beyond what was originally offered . Good place to hide a payoff for those who supplied the explosive chemicals to take down the buildings .


I at least look deep into a conspiracy theory and provide interesting tid bits of info .

Drugs are a major source of financing for terrorists. If you think your local drug dealer cares where his drugs he sells to you come from, he doesn't.

Blueridge...I suggest you study the FDR years before making such a claim.
In the 1930's we had Gov. Work Camps, TVA ect..., Then Industry geared toward military, repression against political opponents, In the 1940's, started the CIA, Improsoned 250,000 American Citizens in Concentration Camps, 4 term President, Censor of radio and press.
Now, I think that makes selected wire and phone taps of possible Terrorists or sympathisers a little mild, don't you think?
Sarbanes-Oxley has done more to follow the money in the banking system than almost anything. I never hear any mention of that.

Yes, I've been saying as much for years.

The Patriot Act is overwhelmingly complicated, with intricate wording and subjugated passageways where all manner of The Bill of Rights and the Constitution is ripped apart, raped, slashed, buried.

And this piece of *ahem* ....."legislation" was written in "response to 9/11?"


NOT BLOODY LIKELY.

9/11 was used as an EXCUSE to thrust this "HITLER'S ENABLING ACT" upon the American citizen.

Its entire purpose is to override Congress.

JUST LIKE HITLER DID.

#1) FDR was a decent man, bush is not to be trusted with a nickel. To compare any actions FDR took with what is happening today is laughing echo in a cave. He was elected four terms because AMERICANS LOVED HIM. It was perfectly legal at the time, your post implies otherwise. And spying has ALWAYS been utilized with the FISA act. bush went WAY beyond the FISA act. He is acting on his own, with no judicial oversight. This is in direct contradiction of the Constitution. I suggest you educate yourSELF.


#2) The Japanese actually DID attack American soil. Iraq did not.

#3) You can drop the line about "spying on terrorists" nobody's buying it HERE. bush's cabal is spying on GREENPEACE, QUAKERS, and ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS' MEETINGS WHERE THEY SERVE COOKIES.
The Patriot Act is not about "terrorism" it's about controlling political dissent.

Elite conspiracies are not as uncommon as many believe them to be. Even mentioining the phrase "elite conspiracy" will make people's eyes roll like you are a nut, which really just allows them to get away with what they do.
