Back up to Tenth ladies and gentlemen, AND ahead of USA. Makes me feel good. What do you guys think?

Well actually they do mean something. The seeding for the world cup comes out of the FIFA ranking, so we need to be high to get into a group with crappier teams. Also the FIFA ranking was revised from the last version, so now victories versus lesser teams hardly matter.

nice...now what I find funny is how many Mexican haters are on this thread...that it says "MEXICAN FOOTBALL (SOCCER)" and yet they still love being here and seeing what were up to! If you hate mexico or have anything against us...GET THE FU(K OUT!!! Simple as that!!!

Rankings don't say much, i guess not until Mexico actually wins a tournament. That day seems closer though, although it's always the same "where're almost there" crap. Hopefully this time it is for real and they can keep up with the good work.

To the user that asked the question, we might move down once European teams start playing more games. Why worry right now about rankings? The next world cup isn't until 2010, it is 2007. You think all those ranking will be the same for 3 years straight?

So i guess you'd rather play the crappy teams and have easy wins in the world cup. That is pretty pathetic. I rather have my team play against competitive teams and win. Now that is something to be proud of. Teams know that they have to play the good teams at one point or another as they advance in the world cup. Actually, why do you even call some teams that arent that good "crappy"? as far as i can remember, those teams are the ones that always give teams trouble. They have heart and play with all they got until they are knocked out.

Teams do not really care about those rankings, like i say they don't tell us much. Italy is #3?...they won the last world cup. They also havent had a match in a while. I could mention a lot of other teams that should be at the top, but they arent.

I have not seen the rankings yet but it seems that it is very close to reality. I do not believe the rankings when they say that Mexico is 6th (there are other Europeans teams that are on top of Mexico) but again it is very close to reality.

Mexico ahead of the US, of course it should be that way for many years to come. I wonder if the rankings also include the U-20, Olympics, and U-17 because it would really show how a country is to be ranked

Rankings are a joke. And no FIFA looks at past records in the past World Cups when it comes to seedings. If Mexico keeps losing to the US it will be a close race in 2009 (when the draw is held).

I think it's about right. There may be an argument with the Czech Republic and England but for know it's pretty accurate. Look who they jumped, they are better than all those teams, and arguably better than Czech and England. I think they great showing at the Copa America and decent showing at the Gold Cup helped a lot. They did beat the number one team, Brazil.

Lets make it to top 5!!! Like when we were 4th with Lavolpe!! Espana will for ever be the most overrated team!!!!! Like Argentina they have a lot of talent but can't play together because they are arrogant and have no team unity. They are the stars in their team and try to be the stars in the national team. But atleast argentina has won something unlike Espana. I have seen them struggle vs crap teams.

Hey, congratulations on that boost in the rankings. Mexico deserves this award after its stellar performance at the Copa America. I'm glad this makes you feel good.

As to ranking ahead of the U.S. well, REAL bragging rights must be earned on the field of play my friend not through semi-arbitrary mathematical formulas. To legitimately claim to be better than the U.S. you must actually beat the U.S. This is something the Mexican team seems woefully incapable of doing lately. We'll see you at the Confederations cup - if Mexico gets invited that is. :-)

Peace out.

Im very happy. We're in the top ten of the world now!!!

To me, there is only one team more overrated than Spain, and that's England.
