...that their "Surrender First" strategy isn't going anywhere?

Senate scuttles troop withdrawal bill By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer
20 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans on Wednesday scuttled a Democratic proposal ordering troop withdrawals from Iraq in a showdown that capped an all-night debate on the war.

The 52-47 vote fell short of the 60 votes needed to cut off debate under Senate rules. It was a sound defeat for Democrats who say the U.S. military campaign, in its fifth year and requiring 158,000 troops, cannot tame the sectarian violence in Iraq.

Yup. Their strategy is surrender before any bloodshed. That way nobody dies. Forget about the rest of the world or if/when we get attacked on our homeland, because war is bad. They are incapable of learning that words can only go so far.

Doctrinally driven individuals seldom learn anything that will question their core beliefs. How else can we explain the incredible drive to electoral self destruction of the neoMcCarthyites who control the Republican Party?

The last election clearly showed that we as a people are sick to death of partisan bloodsports. We rejected the Bush League disciples and gave the Democrats nominal control of Congress. Are the Republicans listening?

Evidently not. The stridency has increased. The lies and vicious character assassination have actually increased! Not one Republican has admitted in public that their own bad behaviour was responsible for the loss of confidence we showed. What can we do to get the message across?

WE WANT CIVILITY! WE DEMAND REASONED, RESPECTFUL DEBATE! COMPROMISE IS GOOD!

Can you hear us now? If not, we will speak even louder. Wait for November 08, and book the Titanic for your election party.

Surrender to who - the Iraqi that we have been forcing democracy on?

Or the terrorists Bush and you supporters have lured in for the purpose of continuing this quagmire!

You rediculous Bush - Pro-Iraq war people are the ones in need of learning something!

If we are safer because we are in Iraq, why do they keep talking about a Summer attack in America?

Why don't you go after these so-called terrorist who are planning a summer attack instead of wasting time in Iraq.

Isn't that what "The War on Terror" is, to actually go after the terrorists!

Saddam is dead - mission accomplished - remember

Perhaps the Dems will relize that they need to comeup with sound strategy to tame sectarian violence not just the same old defeat strategy of the last 54 years.

We learned. We learned that trusting Bush was a dangerous thing. We learned that those who say they support the troops can't even give them body armor. We learned that Cheney and friends are stealing billions from Americans and Iraqis. We learned that Bush does not know the meaning of justice. We have learned a lot, now when are you Neo-cons going to learn that you cannot win an occupation?

Let's see, your side gave us a "President" who hasn't learned, six years later, that his war-on-terror strategy isn't working; and hasn't learned, four years later, that his Iraq war strategy isn't working; and once asked on the campaign trail, "Rarely has the question been asked, 'Is our children learning?'"

Of course we liberals learn. It's your side that doesn't believe in education. Indoctrination, yes; education, no. And that's why your boy is down to a 26 percent approval rating. And that's why your next boy is going to lose 40 States next year.
