How you impact others. Whether it be family friends or even strangers. How did you make their life better or worse. I am not talking just big things even smiling at someone can impact their life. Say you smile at someone who looks rush and serious they smile back the walk into their job interview with the same smile get the job and so on. OK so this was an exaggeration but you know what I mean. Now lets go for the bad someone is walking in the store right behind you and you just let the door close right behind you instead of holding it open for them they think what a jurk and get kinda crabby maybe grouch at the slowness of the cashier then leave crappy and suffer road rage affecting someone elses day in the negitive. Again exaggeration.

My goal is to pursue a life of integrity and christian moral character... from my experience if i have to take a long trip (my life). I want to make sure i have company with me :-) being honest and having character adds value. that value is sought out by good people that you can live your life. Don't forget to smile :-).

also this quote is grossly overused but is still one of my favorite philosophies on life.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success."

A good life philosophy is that life is too broad to have one overlying philosophy and that many philosophies are needed to cover the vast space of time that is life.

The best one that i practice and found to be applicable in every situation in life.. (really believe me.. i use it with every situation and person that person who i come across) it is this

DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU..

I am not a Christian but I believe in this as the single most significant philosophy that should be followed by every individual..

also
LIVE AND LET LIVE.. which is implied from the above

I think the old reformers said it best in the Westminster confession of faith:

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.

Christ said it another way: to love the Lord your God with all your heart and strength and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor. And most of that comes down to covetousness, or in modern language greed.

But my favorite way to say it, in the context of the above

is: Love God and do as you please, and let us go blythely into each new day.

I couldn't give you one. You are either happy or your not. If you find yourself after I don't know how many years, that your not happy, I don't think you ever will be. It's a chemical thing. Some people are just predisposed to happiness and others are not.

If someone gives you something for nothing look closely for a catch. Especially if it's a stranger. (Sad but true).
