I would like to be able to take a few videos from you tube and somehow put them on my computer so I can download them to my portable mp3 player that plays video clips.

Go to http://vixy.net and copy and paste the video URL. You can save this video to your computer in many different formats. AVI for Windows ( Divx + mp3) , MOV for Mac (MPEG4 + mp3 ) , Mp4 for iPod/ PSP (MPEG4 + AAC), 3GP for Mobile Phones ( MPEG4 + AAC), Mp3 (audio only)

You cannot take video from Youtube to your computer as this site is designated for watching videos on this site only.

copy the url (youtube) and and go to keepvid.com paste the url on the box then click download. after you have done that you need to convert it to mp4 do that on media-convert
