Yes. Manly one a few grand finals in the Eighties.

Politically yes - the world was a better and more stable place.
Economically yes. We didn't have this so called "global economy", and corporate greed and lack of morale didn't rule yet. Executive pay wasn't at ridiculous levels.
Political correctness wasn't as predominant as today. We still had some sense of "common sense".
Music - was, in general, better than today. Alternative music was really alternative, innovative and different. Rap music was danceable and enjoyable to listen to. Wasn't polluted with violence and degrading others.
Movies - probably better today than in the 80s.
Technology - much better today with iPods, powerful computers, cellphones etc. But there is a downside. Technology caused jobs to get outsourced to India and China. Also so many people spend time choosing from 200 TV channels, or playing video games, or surfing and chatting that they don't socialize, exercise, or play sports, or have as many family/friends events as they used to.

I was born in 1980. I think it was better. I remember playing as a child do children even play out now

Music and styles? Yes. More original back then. Now, everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.

yes everything cost less and better the music was better the jobs was easier to find gas was cheaper the houses was cheaper

No. I grew up in the 80s and can't imagine having to go back to the cultural wasteland that was that decade.
