Well if you eat right you will have more energy and less fat gain during pregnancy and the sooner you will get your body back....
but if your like me i eat healthier! not healthy 24/7 i gotta have some sweets in there and i don't mind if i don't lose all my weight at once but i did change my sweet intake and pop intake to 1 pop every other day caffeine free of course and changed my milkyways in for 100 calorie marshmallow treats.
as long as the majority of the food you eat is better then the junk intake you will be fine.
you can always take baby steps to eating healthier... like changing your milk to 2% or skim milk changing regular butte to i cant believe its not butter with 65% less fat...
small changes can make a HUGE difference.
P.S.lol with my 1st i gained 50lbs and had trouble loosing that last 10lbs. and i did as the lady above said my favorite was snickers and yougart LOL and i payed for it dearly also got a tigar belly of stretch marks.
with this baby i ate healthier... and only gained 34lbs and im 36wks... So im very proud of myself b/c i know im 16lbs lighter then my last pregnancy.

Well, there is a difference between TOTAL health nut and not eating well at all. If you eat fast food everyday, not so good, but if you try to eat as many fruits and veggies and whole grain foods you will insure you are giving your baby what it needs as well as making labor and delivery easier on yourself. So, if you are feeling paraniod why don't you try to adopt a couple of better eating habits every week, drinking lots of water, eating one more fruit or veggie a day, etc. not having to go from one extreme to the other and you will help your baby, your body and give you some peace of mind.

YOu dont have to be a total health nut, just make sure you are eating things that are going to help you and the baby! You cant live on Coca Cola and snickers bars! Although I know thats probably what you want most, I learned the hard way when I was preggo I wanted pancakes and nutty buddy bars every single day! Problem is I gaine 75 lbs while preggo and it took me almost 2 years to loose it all! It will just be better for you if you stay away from a nutty buddy! Good luck and God Bless!

Eating healthy is a good thing while your pregnant or not. But you don't have to become a health nut. With my first pregnancy I ate a lot of McDonald's and Italian food...including pizza....LOL I was fine because I didn't over do it and my husband kept a close eye on me.
I'm pregnant with my third and this time I work at McDonald's but I am doing better with my meals...I eat salads and veggies while on my break instead of the greasy burgers.
If you want to eat out a fast food restraunts they have other menu items like grilled chicken instead of crispy and salads and even wraps. It all still tastes good too!
Good luck!

When I was pregnant both of my girls appeared to love pizza and milkshakes. I love veggie pizza so I didn't fee to guilty indulging. They were both healthy and robust at birth.
Take your vitamins (very important). I walked alot (helps with weight gain and delivery.) Try not to skip meals and carry snacks with you.
I got lucky with fast food. Every time I drove past a McDonalds I would have to pull over and puke. The smell really made me sick.
Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy. Old people just don't want young people to make the same mistakes they did. Their memories tend to fade and sometimes they forget that they were not perfect either.

Just stop eating empty calories. You need more whole food.
Also, take at least 75 mg of protein per day.
If you can't, get yourself a multivitamin to boost your nutrition intake.
Eating 'better' is important when you're pregnant to avoid complication during pregnancy and to make weight loss easier after birth.
My midwife had several patients who previously underwent c-section because of toxemia. When she cared for them, she asked them to improve their nutrition (she gave an exact guideline, so no guess work 'what constitute eating right' here). As a result, all those patients who previously had toxemia with their previous pregnancy, was gaining weight healthily and didn't develop toxemia anymore and could give birth naturally. Mind you, some of these patients has had multiple toxemia pregnancy previously.

You need to eat good for your baby. But that doesn't mean you cant still have the occasional junk food. As long as your meals are healthy, you can go ahead and eat a big piece of cake after lol It is just common sense, that if it wasn't good for you before, then it isn't good for your now, or your baby either.

No, and very few women really do. Just remember, that you really only need an extra 300 - 500 calories a day so if you don't make them count, you will probably be working them off after the baby gets here. The really important part is to make sure you take those prenatals and folic acid, and make sure you are getting enough calcium.

Decide for yourself. My first girl family and friends told me to eat whatever I liked and post partum I gained 35 pounds. My second girl I watched what I ate and endulged in my cravings a little and I didn't have any extra weight post partum I think you should probably do everything in moderation.

I go to lunch every day with my grandmother and we discuss what Ive read/heard about things to eat and dont eat while pregnant. Yesterday I was talking to her about something I read and she said "Ashley, back in my day and time we never had these rules on things you could and couldnt eat or do while pregnant. Both my children turned out fine. Dont always believe everything you hear or read because it wont always be true. Now a days they are putting way to much pressure on pregnant women." I totally agree with her.
