Very funny - and offensive enough to absolutely be stolen by comics-writers trolling online for material/like Jay Leno's staff seems to do quite often (if you didn't already borrow it?).

Your serious answer is -- it's a way for favored acts to get before mass audiences (for record sales, publicity, etc.) like Fergie which was an absolute joke. The boys of Diana had sort of coming-out/debutante-like party for themselves -- using their mom's good will/feelings/memory. The true Diana was soft/vulnerable and used AT FIRST.. but, the party-girl she became was more like Paris Hilton w/kids, than the demure, princess she's being regarded as currently. But, that's what these things are all about, really, to recreate and IMMORTALIZE a sense of the person, more than who they really were.

The concert wasn't FOR Diana. As (like you correctly state) she is dead and can't hear it, us Brits are not stupid after all we do realize this. It was in memory of Diana for people who want to remember her, and to celebrate her life, NOT mourn her death!
