I think its rude! If you spend time answering someones question, you probably won't be fast enough to be the first response. But if they don't pick an answer it goes to voting. And people lazily pick the first answer without reading the responses.

I definately agree. If you ask a question, be courteous and choose a best answer. Show some respect to those who showed respect to you by answering your question.

Please don't let that stop you from helping other people. I do this for the feeling I get in my heart just from knoing that I've helped some one out of a jam. I'm not looking for any kind of reward, and you shouldn't either, but gratitude is another thing all together. On that people are rude, an will walk all over your feelings, acting like they don't know all of the effort that you've put into giving them the best answer that you could. Only thing I can say is YOU ARE #1, so keep it up but don't expect anything in return, and you'll be alreght.

I agree as well! They took the time to ask the question, at least pick the answer that suits them best.

If I go to vote on a question, I make sure I read all the answers, though.

If there is more than one good answer or there are no good answers, then it's hard to decide which answer is best. And this may be the reason why many people don't pick the best answer.

yes I do think it is rude. It happens alot though. I think maybe people just get bored alot and don't even care about the answers - or they do not get the response they were looking for.

no, i dont think its rude. i hardly ever pick a best answer because i dont think people really give that great of answers.
i think its rude when people give thumbs down on answers especially if they are logical ones. i understand if you are just being an ahole and being rude to people, but to me its like dont ask a question if you dont want my opinion.
