I believe they're part of, or sister to Amway. I have friends that keep pushing me to be involved. I think I need new friends. Anyone had genuine success with Quixtar (I mean have you MADE money)?

As a Tax Accountant, I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone make any money with Quixtar.

The "scams" with Quixtar are the seminars, training and other functions that you are expected to attend. While you are told that they (along with books, tapes and Cd's) are optional, it is highly suggested that you attend. The big secret in Quixtar that no one will admit to is that the guy at the top of the organization (the diamond) makes the vast majority (80-90%) of his money from the training functions and products and very little the actual Quixtar/Amway household products.

I have seen people spend $5000 - $10,000 per year with these functions and only end up making $1000 or so off the products. Investing $5k to return $1k is not a good investment. Yet they are convinced that they will be rich someday. The truth is that they will be bankrupt.

One other thing that is very pervasive in the world of multi-level marketing as the "Fake it till you make it" attitude. People act like Quixtar is the greatest thing in the world yet they are losing money hand over fist. I am guessing that your "friends" are like this.

You were right. You need new friends.

I do know one person who had real success with Quixtar, but I think that was an excepteion--a person who got in really early. I know another couple who got really into it but didn't make much money--they spent so much on seminars on how to sell better it ate their earnings. I don't think it is a big moneymaker for most people.
