Congrats! I am 29 weeks and also debating on whether to go to the classes or not. I am getting really nervous about the big day and am thinking that maybe these classes will help ease my mind a little. At least they can prepare you for what's in store. I may not use a thing I learn but just in case you never know they may be helpful. Good luck
Also a first time mom!!

Take birthing classes for the knowledge, but don't expect to be thinking about how you should breathe when the moment comes, I don't want to scare you, but the last thing you think about when that moment arrives is breathing, I took birthing classes with my first (I have 3 now) I was in labor for 42 hours and it ended in a c-section. It was the worsed experience of my life. The pain is indescribable. The birthing classes will teach you about many things though, not just breathing rythms.

I took birthing classes with my first and when I went into labour I forgot everything! My advice would be take them out of interest but nothing will go to plan so expect the unexpected. Both my labours were relatively easy, take each contraction as it comes. Nature will take over, women have had babies for thousands of years with out a class to tell you what to do. You will just do what you need to. Good luck

take the class, even if you never use the breathing techniques you will learn so much about the actual birth process, so you will not be so scared going into labor and delivery. I took them with my son, but got the epidural anyway. But it was nice to know what my body was actually doing while I gave birth.

Yes i think it would benefit you to take birthing classes, weather or not you choose to do the breathing is up to you. But it prepares you for so much more they dont just teach you about breathing. You learn about the medications the procedures just stuff that you are unsure about. I have just one child and I took them actually my hubby went with me and he said it helped him understand what was going to happen! Good Luck and God Bless!

I took it my first time it is a great way to ease a lot of your concerns. The parenting classes for the father are great too. They are so funny learning to swaddle and diaper a baby.
