This is a bad idea.
When you start to leak from the water pump you will end up with air in the lines, low coolant, and rusted parts on the inside of the engine.
It would be wise to just take the pump off, replace the o-ring, and gasket.
Make sure you test the pump to see if it is free spinning.

Do yourself a favor and do not short cut fixing the water pump. The "o" ring can not be done from the front side. You need to remove the water pump.
Typically you are better off simply replacing the entire water pump. The ability to pump and move the proper amount of coolant around in your engine is CRITICAL. It is a vital part of your engine.
Short cutting it will only result in grief later down the line which could lead to your entire engine failing.

You can't. And I'd put money on it that the water pump itself is leaking, so, like the other responder, change the pump!

Get 2 or 3 cans of radiator Stop-Leak at Autozone, its a bunch of pellets that will float around in your radiator and melt into the leaks.

Nope. Just take it off and fix it. A sealant is a temp fix. Its not that hard and you should have enough room to manuever around to fix it

you can but they are temporary, even if they work.
Where is this oring you speak of?
It may be just the t-stat oring. Which is an easy fix and cost you about $10.
